If you could build a light house then it could help your companies ships travel safely to deliver goods
But do not dare do that because it would also allow competitors to benefit from your light which would be a free rider problem
Intellectual Property laws prevent those pesky free riders
When the other ships go by turn off that light and let them crash if their company does not build their own lighthouse that they can turn off when your ships go by

You're conflating tangible with intangible goods.
A more realistic example is:
You spend months writing a book.
It releases and it sells like hotcakes.
Ripoff Mcgee sees your book and uses AI to say the SAME shit with the same references and sells it.
Ripoff Mcgee can spend WAY more than you on marketing since he spend ZERO time writing/researching.
Because of this he gets invited on national TV and people think of him when it comes to YOUR ideas.

Copyright laws should be removed also
And everyone should be able to download copies of the book online and print them for free
But if he said he wrote the book that is lying
He can not honestly take credit for it but he should be able to make the same amount of money for it as you, no money
We should not have money
The motive to write a book is to give people good ideas so society functions better
You benefit then by living in a better functioning society

Two groups build a product
Both groups can barter the product they build
If one group finds a shortcut to produce the same product faster then they can produce more of those products to trade per time
The other group can copy their method but still has to do the work to make the product
Both groups benefit from the innovation of the other group
If an over abundance of the product occurs manufacture a new product instead
Net result less working hours in society
