Birds can lay eggs if they are not pregnant
Supposedly they do this more often the more calcium is in their diet
You might want to find if there are any fertilized eggs and use those to get more chickens
You can eat or sell the eggs that are not fertilized and do not become new chickens
That rooster might have made some of the eggs become fertilized
Do I need to explain this better or look up articles or information to explain this
I do not fully understand this
If the egg is not fertilized and no one eats it then it rots and no one gets food out of it
