Did the government gave us civil rights or civil wrongs
@Csmgj If they were "god given rights", the government couldn't take them away.
A right only exists as long as the person is willing (and capable) to fight and kill for it. Which is why not everyone has (or deserves) the same rights. And since no one is willing to defend their rights anymore (calling the police and daddy government doesn't count), they don't get any.
In practice, it's the police and the military that are protecting their rights by squashing everyone else's.
@Based_Accelerationist Rights are useless in an unjust world. They are only useful in determining who is right, and who is wrong. Just because government decrees something doesn't make it right.
@shortstories What's the difference?
@shortstories I guess rights aren't granted by our government, all they can give us is wrongs. Government is SUPPOSED to protect our rights by prosecuting those who have violated the rights of others. However more often than not they violate our God given rights under the pretense of keeping us safe.
