@RoninGrey Have you ever watched the Youtube channel The Spirit of Prophecy? He's a Baptist or former Baptist or something but he's anti Dispy, and he has lots of good guests on like Jason Jack to discuss Short Season. And he just put out a video with a mediocre guest but he mentioned that he's frustrated with the futurists (like himself) uncaring tendency to be what TFM calls the death cult. Weird to see a Baptist be anti Dispy and also not a detached accelerationalist war monger.
@N_Y_SparkyOxCable Yes, I watched thst Jason Jack episode and I liked how open he was to hearing him out and just letting him speak, rather than having a debate format. I didn't know he was "anti-Dispy" though, and you're right that's interesting to see in a Baptist.
Dispy = ?
@shortstories @N_Y_SparkyOxCable Dispensationalist. I don't think it's a pejorative term, just a short one for slang / abbreviation.
I have talked to Christians who have said that it would make the most sense to delay Jesus second coming as much as possible so that there is more time to save more souls
These Christians would not try to start a war to bring back Jesus sooner
Also you can understand the book of revelation in a way tht is not dispensational if you look at the worship of the beast as a metaphor for people worshiping the government or the government officials as a ongoing event
@RoninGrey @N_Y_SparkyOxCable
You can view Revelation as describing people's relationship wity the government in both the past and present and also in tge future unless humanity as a whole learns to change it's ways
Not as a description of timelines but as a description of how people tend to act in general
