So some "cult experts" said something like that some people believe that people who memorized religious texts have special powers and that it is a way to achieve mystical manipulation among Robert Jay Lifton points

I guesx some people are too stupid to realize that it is possible to memorize sentences

Turd Flinging Monkey said something like hat some stupid people believe beung smart is like a magic super power

Typos but my internet is so messed up that I am nit going to try to fix them

@Zergling_man

The average person can memorize a sentence if they put in the effort

Memorizing Bible verses is not a super power

Most people are just lazy

@shortstories @Zergling_man fr people that were dumb as rocks at my church could do it, I could memorise verses faster than them but it was not at all proportional to my superiority in math and such.
an easy way is to start with the first letter of each word and read it over and over until you can do it to yourself without material.
e.g. P, a s o J C, c t b a a a, s u t g o G,
@shortstories Many of the stupidest people are good at memorization skills. One guy I knew excelled at memorizing Bible verses. Another guy I knew could memorize baseball scores. Hundreds of them. But their IQs were probably in the 60s and they needed constant adult supervision to keep from hurting themselves.

@LudditeMan

There are many Muslims that memorize the Quran but are not smart in other areas

@LudditeMan @Zergling_man

Let me clarify further in case I did not explain well enough

Some followers will believe a leader has super powers because the leader memorized religious texts and then the followers will start believing whatever the leader says or does simply because they memorized the texts

But most people if they put in the effort could memorize texts so that does not mean they have super powers because it is sonething most people could do if they put in the effort

@DMA @LudditeMan @Zergling_man

My point is not about how great the leaders memory is but how stupid some people are if they would blindly obey soneone just because that person memorized things

I think we have greatly underestimated the stupidity of the average person and that it will be helpful to have a realistic perspective and make better choices if we understand how stupid the average person is

Sadly we might have to meet them at their level to influence the behavior of the masses

@shortstories @DMA @Zergling_man George Carlin didn't DO anything about it, but he had it pegged.
@shortstories @LudditeMan And I'm telling you, being smart is actually a superpower. So is being diligent!

@Zergling_man

So Turd Flinging Monkey was explaining sonething like that stupid people imagine smart people to have super powers to be able to do things that smart people can not do

For example instead of having a specific methodology and steps to know what they know

Stupid people imagine smart people just automaticly knowing things without having to go through specific steps to figure it out

I think what he meant by super or magic power is contextually different than what you meant

@shortstories Maybe I should do fedi autist contest and pit you against Suiseiseki.
(Actually you'd have to beat me first, I think I'm still more autist than you.
ofc I wouldn't do that, I'd rather play @Rance instead.)

>I think what he meant by super or magic power is contextually different than what you meant
Yes, that's the joke.
@Zergling_man @shortstories Indeed.
I learned to talk to normal people by the time I was in second grade. I really think being smart is kind-of a double-edged sword.
Then you have midwits who are constantly trying to challenge you with their brilliance, but they only excel at being annoying or getting hurt.
And now stupid people are increasing exponentially.
Not much of a super power when you're the only adult in a room full of children.
It can be a very lonely and frustrating life.
@LudditeMan @shortstories swat selects for INTJ and a handful of INTP.
Or other way round I forget.
This is the other reason I recommend it.

@Zergling_man @LudditeMan

"swat selects for INTJ and a handful of INTP.

What is swat?

@shortstories @LudditeMan Apparently there are a bunch of things from one of the Fallout games referenced in it; the drugs are buffout, speed and mentat, implants are muscle-boost, reflex boost and uhhh I forgot the int one. Stimpacks might be a reference too, not sure.
I think Flower Child (trait) is, not sure about Chem Reliant.

It's actually very loosely set in the Resident Evil movie universe.
