So some "cult experts" said something like that some people believe that people who memorized religious texts have special powers and that it is a way to achieve mystical manipulation among Robert Jay Lifton points

I guesx some people are too stupid to realize that it is possible to memorize sentences

Turd Flinging Monkey said something like hat some stupid people believe beung smart is like a magic super power

@shortstories Many of the stupidest people are good at memorization skills. One guy I knew excelled at memorizing Bible verses. Another guy I knew could memorize baseball scores. Hundreds of them. But their IQs were probably in the 60s and they needed constant adult supervision to keep from hurting themselves.

@LudditeMan

There are many Muslims that memorize the Quran but are not smart in other areas

@LudditeMan @Zergling_man

Let me clarify further in case I did not explain well enough

Some followers will believe a leader has super powers because the leader memorized religious texts and then the followers will start believing whatever the leader says or does simply because they memorized the texts

But most people if they put in the effort could memorize texts so that does not mean they have super powers because it is sonething most people could do if they put in the effort

@shortstories @LudditeMan And I'm telling you, being smart is actually a superpower. So is being diligent!

@Zergling_man

So Turd Flinging Monkey was explaining sonething like that stupid people imagine smart people to have super powers to be able to do things that smart people can not do

For example instead of having a specific methodology and steps to know what they know

Stupid people imagine smart people just automaticly knowing things without having to go through specific steps to figure it out

I think what he meant by super or magic power is contextually different than what you meant

@shortstories Maybe I should do fedi autist contest and pit you against Suiseiseki.
(Actually you'd have to beat me first, I think I'm still more autist than you.
ofc I wouldn't do that, I'd rather play @Rance instead.)

>I think what he meant by super or magic power is contextually different than what you meant
Yes, that's the joke.
