With the exception of some black teachers who were the best history teachers I ever had who tried to cover African history and admitted black people owned slaves

My entire history education was essentially American History from the landing of Christopher Columbus on America until world war 2

They mostly would not cover other locations or time periods except as it indirectly relates to America

With each grade it seemed like they already taught that except the Vietnam war in high school

They indirectly would shove other time periods and locations into literature class

They might for example teach Greek and Roman mythology which is not history but more like fiction and or religion in literature class but they would not actually teach Greek and Roman History

Or they might shove medieval Europe into literature class with fiction about magic but not actual medieval European history

One might ask was the reason for this to achieve belief without question in White Guilt
