Also there was no India before William Carey but just a bunch of tribes that did not share a common language to talk to each other he basicly created what became the modern Hindi language by finding Sanskrit roots in a bunch of very different languages and giving them a single unified written language based on Sanskrit

If Indians did not value Indian life without British intervention then why should Britain pay them for something that Indians considered of zero value before Britain tried to civilise them and stop them from lighting women on fire

@shortstories @sardonicsmile the hindi language is an absolute disaster. most of the words in it are not sanskrit in the first place, they are urdu. william carey didn't invent hindi, it's not some jeet esperanto that needed construction to.come into existence. it was a military creole that arose among the soldiers of the dehli sultanate.

obviously not all widows will do bad things after their husband dies, which is why you shouldn't hve institutional bereaved-icide, but this point is moot because india did not have institutional bereaved-icide. neurotic widows were killing themselves while sane widows were surviving.
