I've never boiled eggs whites, only whole eggs. Is it decent?

@Jens_Rasmussen @john_darksoul

I heard the egg whites have a higher amount of protein and lower amount of fat and cholesterol per mass or per volume than the yolk

If you ever ate a hard boiled egg with both whites and yolk which is a normal hard boiled egg and ate the whites and yolk separetly then you already know what the whites taste like

Except both the whites and the yolk taste different if cooked different ways

And taste different if salt or pepper is added then if it is not added

I am aware of the nutritional differences, but I have never imagined cooking egg whites on their own and not only their use as an ingredient.

One of the reasons people might eat egg whites without the yolk is to get more protein with less fat and or cholesterol

Whether egg yolk cholesterol is good or bad for the heart is debated and they have a joke about the stwnce of iff eggs ard good or bad for your heart changing every year on the Simpsons

Angel food cake has a lot of egg whites without the yolk from what I heard

It seems a waste of food to me to separate the yolk and then throw it out

If either yolks or whites are more popular then wouldn't the other one get thrown out when the public does not buy enough?

Probably, but I would imagine that when a large enough stock approaches expiration date, it gets put on discount and suddenly it gets bought up.
