The spine angle is likely affecting the angle of the esophagus, the dog could be susceptible to choking hence the difficulty swallowing. God knows where the lungs are fitting in. Would love to see a radiograph of where all these organs are fitting in.

BUT This is what happens when you support backyard breeders. This dachshund's coat color is a dilute brown, sometimes called 'blue'. It's not a recognized color in major kennel clubs, and a lot of breeders will breed 'rare' colors like this to drum up more buyers. The person who bred this dog was likely a backyard breeder - a puppy mill would have killed it and a reputable breeder wouldn't have been breeding for this color to begin with.

Issues like this does not always happen slowly. This is likely the result of breeding two dogs that were not extensively health tested, creating an extreme mutation. Not only does it create a dog that will suffer until it dies young, but the experience is going to hurt the owners, the dog's family, maybe scar the children the dog was bought for.

Please please please do research before buying a dog from a breeder. Please do not support people who support this.

The reality is that they won't do shit, they can't force us to do anything, and we only stand to benefit immensely through noncompliance and separation.

I'm constantly reminded of what my small town could have been and what it is becoming because of federal and corporate interests. It was primed to become a place where local businesses flourished and right at that moment Walmart Super Center, Dollar Generals everywhere. I won't bore you with the details but since then it's only gotten worse on a parabolic curve.

We used to have lobster tanks in the grocery store and a butcher in the back...
