@Tfmonkey
I had pretty much this exact experience years ago. I was told I had a chemical imbalance but I knew my “depression” was a result of problems I didn’t know how or couldn’t fix, mostly family issues.

@Tfmonkey
The pills helped regulate negative feelings but prevented positive ones. I started to get side effects and getting off them was a rocky road. I decided it was better to deal with the depression/difficulty without pharmaceuticals even though my family all sided with the experts because I was easier for them to deal with when I was on drugs.

@southpole21 the purpose of the drugs is to make you content with your shitty life instead of fixing the problems with your shitty life.

@southpole21 @Tfmonkey I understand that SSRI's also may cause suicidal ideation? I think when you lower your expectations and become content that removes any need for feeling depressed. Not all of us have the capacity for success, the way social media portrays success to be. Most of it is a façade and production, for effect. I understand there are sales training programs to trigger emotions like fear, greed, love, urgency, and "keeping up with the Jones".
