@Tfmonkey Would you agree or disagree with this statement. Artists who draw license characters and lock them behind paywalls, and are not paying royalties to the creators. Are overtly stealing revenue from those creator(s).

@theFlow No, disagree completely. If you draw a character without owning the rights to that character, you didn't "steal" anything. That's retarded.

If you sell that copyright infringing art for a profit, the copyright holder could sue you for those profits, but that isn't "stealing", it's copyright infringement.

Most people (and nations) don't care about copyright infringement, hence why retards call it stealing.

I hate word magic.

@Tfmonkey btw what @theFlow was describing is what japanese hentai artists do literally every single day on fanbox and other moon rune patreon alternatives. There seems to be an understanding that fan art is allowed, even if monetized because the artist took the effort to draw the character and make porn worth buying of them.

@ButtWorldsMan @theFlow Most of the world doesn't give a damn about copyright infringement.

I just bought a retro game console for $20 on Ali Express with 6,000 roms on it. Nobody cares.

@Tfmonkey @theFlow I made the mistake of torrenting a modern video game. Got a copyright warning. There are faggots who really care. Forgot I need to be behind 30 proxies before I pirate shit from some amerifat corporation.

@ButtWorldsMan @theFlow Your mistake was torrenting because the copyrighted materials flows through ISP which are US-based and subject to copyright laws.

If you buy the copyright infringing games direct form China, nobody cares. China certainly doesn't.

@Tfmonkey @theFlow My mistake was not downloading the game in little pieces from file hosting sites. Instead I opted for the fat and lazy convenience option and got a heart attack. Gotta put some back into it when pirating shit.

VPNs solve this. I've never been snagged by my ISP as long as I used a VPN. I set up the VPN with a kill switch so if it goes down for some reason, it cuts off the network so everything just stops. That avoids having the VPN crash and your torrent reconnecting live and continuing.
