Because I value sharing my opinion when it might be though provoking, here's my previous post so that everyone will see it without my horrendous faux pas of long posting under a meme:
Why would you sleep on the couch because your wife is upset at something you said? Unless she is earning more than half of the family's income, assuming splitting all assets according to wages earned, she has no standing to dictate where you sleep.
If a man sleeps on the couch its because he chooses to do so. I would however recommend constructive feedback instead of mere criticism. How is she to improve if you don't provide feedback that is practical?
Pretty much. This is an entirely modern phenomena, enforced through countless TV/Movies that tells both men & women how to act in the nuclear family.
When families were multi-generational & embedded in multi-generational communities this didn't exist.
Men mostly did activities with other men & boys, and women/girls had their own thing going on.
If a woman got uppity with the men, the grandmas laid down the law & smacked the bitch out of her way before the men did.
@UncleIroh @ButtWorldsMan I've heard some people state that with the increase in the standard of living, the breakdown of tightly-knit families and communities is inevitable, but I disagree. The breakdown of this culture as a direct effect of pro-socialist/communist activism via outlets such as the Fabian society which was concurrent with rapid increases in the standard of living is more to blame, I believe.
And they would be right. We often talk about Liberalism, Neo-Liberalism, Progressivism, Left/Right, but really we've been living under a Fabian Socialist operating system for the last 100 years. That would be more accurate.
The Fabian model is a superset of Left/Right.
@ButtWorldsMan It disgusts me. I hear males in my work and other areas of life saying things to this effect. Beyond simply understanding of the situation, I wish so much to ask, "Have you no pride? Are you not willing to stake a claim on what is yours?"
I know the answer to these questions. As you rightly stated: subservient males: slaves of their own making.
