@Gonzo17 It depends on what the objective is. Are tariffs "bad" in comparison to the free market in producing greater wealth overall? Yes. Are they an alternative means to fund the government to taxes? Yes, but they still don't create wealth. No interference-based government policy can create wealth.

Tariffs are one of the least bad options if you are going to tax because they encourage people to manufacture locally and reduce dependence on foreign countries which brings people closer to local national autonomy instead of internationalism
It is less harmful to tax imports from foreign countries than to tax local trade from within your own country if you want national autonomy
I of course support unbelief in money, unbelief in government & unbelief in corporations instead
