> they really do not have life outside work.

Slight correction: they dont have any *authority* outside of work.

Their family/friends avoid or walk all over their loser dark triad ass but at work people respect their title of middle manager so they don't starve.

I think this is why boomers hold on to jobs well past retirement age even when they have a wife,kids and hobbies.

They just don't want to let go of that one part of their life where they have any power.

@basedbagel @Stahesh @amerika exactly and most those boomers will die once they loose their reason of importance

@Scubbie @basedbagel @Stahesh

The job is their only claim to importance, significance, and relevance.

Without it, they are nobodies, with no direction exception shopping and death.

This is spot on!

I used to envy these lazy ass "managers" that slowed me down and didn't do any work until I realized that this is all they got and it's as good as it gets for them.

They have to live with the sword of Damocles and have constant paranoia someone will take their spot.

Deep down they hate themselves because they know no one woul deal with them if they didn't have to.

IMO it's worse than being an Incel.

At least they have friends/family who genuinely care about them.

@basedbagel @Scubbie @Stahesh

As far as I can tell, "incel" means "haven't found a girlfriend/boyfriend yet."

The dating market is bad but mostly because men follow advice they see on television.

That is not the way you meet fiery, intelligent, high-aptitude ladies like the biological females on spinster.xyz.

Incel in my generation is anyone who can't get laid.

I can only speak for gen z incels but even though they bitch a lot they have a point.

As someone who went from looking like a textbook nerd to getting in shape with a good wardrobe it is NIGHT AND DAY how I was treated by not just women but men as well.

IDK if it's my generation but we are way too superficial to the point where you're denied common human decency if people don't find your aesthetically pleasing

@basedbagel @Scubbie @Stahesh

It's not your generation. It's democracy.

Optics rule in democracy, and when everyone is equal, no one is worth anything until they perform for the social circus.
@basedbagel @Scubbie @Stahesh

I think you capture the mentality of the "crab bucket" accurately: they know everyone else is trying to take their space, so they belittle everyone else in order to keep their place.

This is why they are Willy Loman style characters. They simply have no relevance to anything except the artificial. This enrages them and makes them petty.
