@sardonicsmile It's good to see the historical precedent for Ukraine. No powerful state wants a US puppet state on their border. Even though NK is a tragedy, it's a buffer state for China.

Korean War 100% happened because the United States sided with the Soviet Union Russia USSR instead of with Germany in world war 2
USSR took north half of Korea from Japan
United States took south half of Korea from Japan
After world war 2 ended each half fought each other
If USSR was defeated then they would not own the North half of Korea
