Using a Barbell instead of two dumbells, kettlebells or other one handed weights to do the bench press is a very bad idea for more than 80% of the population because most people are not strong enough to need a barbell instead of the heaviest dumbells they can find
And a similar movement pattern can be used with dumb bells without risking choking to death
If you just stack weight on one end of the barbell but not the other and hold it with one hand on the opposite end you could get a lot of torque but you better be careful the weight does not fall off
