Lard is animal fat used in cooking
You might be able to use left over animal fat from cooking in dumplings or corn bread or other baked goods if the bacon grease is the same as Lard

Bisquick used in cooking originally had Lard but replaced it with Hydrogenated oils
Crisco which used Hydrogenated Oils has replaced Lard from Pig Fat in cooking
I would suspect that these Hydrogenated Oils are also called Trans Fat
There was an official reccomendation to have no more than zero grams of trans fat where as saturated fats had a reccomendation to have no more than some finite positive number that was greater than zero
