@Tfmonkey can you help me explain something with regards to vanguard, I purchaed some UNG shares a few days ago, on my transaction history it says that I purchased them for $7.15 per share but when I go to my cost basis history it says that I purchased it at $14.39 per share, why this discrepancy, I also only payed the price for the shares at the $7.15 price
@ButtWorldsMan @Tfmonkey got it, I thought it was something worse, wash sale is not that bad.
@37712 @Tfmonkey uh oh looks like someone made a wash sale. You sold UNG for a loss, then within 30 days you bought more UNG. The loss was added to your cost basis upon buying new shares.
Go to cost basis again and look for some icon on that line with the 14 bucks. It'll say "wash sale."
