Actual rich people usually own their businesses and college is mostly just a formality as their kids will inherit their parent's empires regardless of what diplomas they hold. Why start from scratch, after all. Still, it's good to diversify so the family doesn't depend on a single source of income.
Then you have the elites who see college mostly as a way to rub elbows with the powerful and gain access to their secret clubs.

The people I'm most curious about are the ultra wealthy, ultra elite and top royalty, you know, the ones who pay good money to NOT appear on any web searches.

Hidden knowledge is a real thing, and if there was ever a strong use case, this would be it. The knowledge, secrets and information accrued by such families over generations practically guarantees that they teach their children an entirely unknown syllabus. Social engineering, nation-toppling, etc..
