@Justicar If only it was just voting. No, they pay taxes and enforce the system's rules. It's all because people worship power above all else, as they always have. When that power was mostly in the hands of nobles and the clergy, the peasants worshiped their fantasies and were willing to die in their wars.
Nothing has changed, power is all that matters to these people and they'll sell everyone to get it.
