@sardonicsmile probably that's why he's in the army, so he can fell for the first time in his life that he belong somewhere. even if the entire setup is completely artificial, isolated and temporary.

As TFM correctly pointed out in the Weds show, blacks are also a founding stock of America. They're not going anywhere.
Without the 14th passing in 1868, freed slaves would have effectively been stateless non-citizens, since they no longer had any connection to their obscure origins.
If they refused to let politicians use them to grow the state and divide everyone, they could actually grow up and be useful, productive citizens instead of Walmart Haitians.
@UncleIroh @sardonicsmile @YoMomz even though i am not "american", i would hardly label blacks as founding stock. just because they were present back in those times does not make them founding no stock.
