@DoubleD also, if you dress well, you stand out, people will notice. i do not like attention. i prefer to be invisible and just blend in with the crowd. so you also need to be that type of person to dress well.
@DoubleD i tried that in the past. i love nice clothes but it was everything but relaxing. you need to combine colors properly. you need to iron everything. you need to wear different things every day. the care required for the clothes and to ensure nothing was dirty, sweaty, creased.. was just not worth it. i said fuck that and now i only wear sportwear. I don't iron shit, don't care about looks, only comfort. i would wear flipflops and shorts to a meeting to sign $1B deal instead of a suit.
@UncleIroh keep in mind that back then, even before those days, flying was a luxury for the rich, so a stewardess was more like a fashion model rather than a working girl. with commercialisation of flying, they indeed became working girls, and men were added into the work force. so everything changed. the photo is a memento of a bygone era, even when it was taken since it was all on its way out already.

When kids are in school and are asked what they want to do when they grow up, I think it is a good analogy to ask what job on a movie set they would want to do. Actor, director, writer, producer, gaffer, sound engineer, production designer, set builder, lighting engineer, electrician, logistics, catering...i think that would give kids very good direction in life, not having to guess, not knowing at all, trying random jobs.
@picofarad i think russia was always on the backburner as the baddie to go against in the future, due to resources, and because the SMO happened it kinda forced the west's hand prematurely and they just had to go all in. they just did not count on the fact that europe has been eroded since hilary killed gadaffi and merkel opened the borders. europe is "the old continent" and that also means it became poor in natural resources, which russia has.
Remember how Elon fired 85% of twitter employees and twitter has not skipped a beat since? The businesses nowadays are riddled with ineficiency.
