@sardonicsmile If a dog attacks you, and its owner is on the scene, the owner is about to attack you too. 99% of dog owners don't take kindly to you not letting yourself be mauled. Judged by 12, not carried by 6.

I know that in CZ there are so weak laws for dogs because they are basically things and not humans.
So even if you would have some legal trouble it would be almost nothing.
Even legally you will be right in selfdefense
@Stahesh @sardonicsmile It's legally that way here, too. They are property. But culturally, people treat them like they're their children. If the owner has a weapon, they are likely to try to murder you.
I think stricter laws would be nice. If a dog mauls you, the owner is only liable for medical bills, not prison time. People intentionally raise dangerous dogs like pit bulls for this reason.
