@37712 @Pain66 Well the problem is when they fought the weapon use back them were very infective to kill several men at once except for canon but to preparate those requiere expecific condition. Now if you try to fight a super power 5 men can kill 1 million of men easily with today arsenal so is not worth it to waste a life like that.
@Pain66 These portraits clearly are not from the year of 1776. At least not most of them, as Thomas Jefferson and John Marshall would be looking pretty rough if they were 20 and 33 and looked like that.
But still, I am not surprised that they were young men when the revolution happened, as they would need to be at the peak fighting age to make it through the war (regardless if they directly fought or not).
It does show that men were much different then versus now.

@Pain66 The problem is the infinite infantilization of everyone who isn't over 40 years old. And then they wonder why anybody under 30 is so childish. They aren't allowed to be adults, nor are they treated as adults even when they act like it.
