The principle applies to anything you're wanting to store away for a rainy day.

I also recommend more than one kind of silver. Junk silver is 1) immediately recognizable by the year but 2) is also easy to disguise as normal change ( and also easy to distribute among your crew for the same reason).

Maybe all raccoons are preppers?

@RoninGrey @Tfmonkey I have standard hurricane supplies and freeze dried foods some junk silver and alcohol in airplane bottles for trade,water purification and collection capabilities (will still need water maker when I get a boat for saltwater distillery)and medical supplies guns and ammo, deploable solar for marine applications and solar generators I have a plan and am working a plan that will allow me to scout out some areas and leave stuff along an escape route

@Scubbie Just have a way to collect, purify / filter, and store water. Multiple redundant techniques at once. Iodine, bleach / chlorine pills, boiling, evaporation (distilling), morning dew collection, rainwater, filtration.
