@Scubbie True, but you would also have to scrub a lot of the other worker's protections (employer-paid health insurance, minimum wage and paid medical/parental leave) if you intend to compete in the export market.
If you close off the market then you could have some government subsidy and keep the labor laws, like France does.

@Scubbie Yes, the employer would have to offer more money to be worth it in any case. The issue is always how to keep your costs low enough to have competitive prices that generate profit at the end.
It will inevitably be automated (most of it already is).
