I felt like that for years when I saw people doing absurd stuff or couldn't grasp when I explained basic things. I thought sometimes they were messing with me.
I wasn't ready to face the sea of retardation that was life.

Because you probably has a more realistic view about your skills. They are comparing you to their standards, which don't matter - only internal validation is important with the goals you set for you.
