@Justicar According to official history, all civilization came from there, from Mesopotamia during the Neolithic Revolution. It's not that surprising.
Even if you consider the alien/demon invasion theory, it would make sense for them to install themselves where most of the future of humanity lived, enslave them to your way of life and let them spread carrying this sick mentality.
