It's been a month since I began only eating one meal a day, and I thought I'd share my weight changes

Week 0: gained 6 lbs (this inspired me to only eat one meal a day)
Week 1: lost 9 lbs.
Week 2: lost 6 lbs
Week 3. gained 3 lbs
Week 4: lost 10 lbs

I think week 3 was water weight. I'm not sure what to do. I could buy water pills or just accept that I might gain weight once in a while but that it will probably reverse by the next week and it will all average out in the end and not sweat it.

@Tfmonkey maybe week 3 was muscle gain from doing the little feet lifts with the weights on

@Scubbie No, I never remember to do those. I even tried using ankle weights to "remind myself" to do them, and I just don't.

I still work out 3X a week, and I do the heel pushups when I feel like it.

@Tfmonkey @Scubbie Is this a permanent thing? Are you obese? Why do you want to lose 6 to 9 lbs per week?

@redmaple @Scubbie I was already doing intermittent fasting before to maintain a healthy weight, but lowered it to one meal a day after I gained 6 lbs.

I haven't noticed a drop in energy or productivity, so I might as well keep doing this until I get back to my military weight, which I never thought I'd be again.

This is honestly pretty effortless. Eating once instead of having a 4-hour "window" is easier to track anyway.

@Tfmonkey @Scubbie Just as an aside, do you know how many calories you need to maintain your ideal weight? That will be useful when you get to your ideal weight to prevent yo-yoing.

@redmaple @Scubbie No, I will just adjust my diet and exercise routine once I get down to my ideal weight. Since only eating one meal will be my new routine, I might just start eating dessert again.
