It's been a month since I began only eating one meal a day, and I thought I'd share my weight changes

Week 0: gained 6 lbs (this inspired me to only eat one meal a day)
Week 1: lost 9 lbs.
Week 2: lost 6 lbs
Week 3. gained 3 lbs
Week 4: lost 10 lbs

I think week 3 was water weight. I'm not sure what to do. I could buy water pills or just accept that I might gain weight once in a while but that it will probably reverse by the next week and it will all average out in the end and not sweat it.

@Tfmonkey maybe week 3 was muscle gain from doing the little feet lifts with the weights on

@Scubbie No, I never remember to do those. I even tried using ankle weights to "remind myself" to do them, and I just don't.

I still work out 3X a week, and I do the heel pushups when I feel like it.

@Tfmonkey @Scubbie Is this a permanent thing? Are you obese? Why do you want to lose 6 to 9 lbs per week?

@redmaple @Scubbie I was already doing intermittent fasting before to maintain a healthy weight, but lowered it to one meal a day after I gained 6 lbs.

I haven't noticed a drop in energy or productivity, so I might as well keep doing this until I get back to my military weight, which I never thought I'd be again.

This is honestly pretty effortless. Eating once instead of having a 4-hour "window" is easier to track anyway.

@Tfmonkey @Scubbie Just as an aside, do you know how many calories you need to maintain your ideal weight? That will be useful when you get to your ideal weight to prevent yo-yoing.

@redmaple @Scubbie No, I will just adjust my diet and exercise routine once I get down to my ideal weight. Since only eating one meal will be my new routine, I might just start eating dessert again.

@Tfmonkey

Did you have any energy loss/drowsiness?

I tried one meal a day but I stopped because I always got super tired soon after and took a long nap which fucked up my sleep schedule.

@Tfmonkey I've been inconsistently doing OMAD for the past 2 months and I still managed to go from 105 kg (231 lbs) to the low 93 kg (205 lbs) where I'm currently standing.

But it'd be a lie not mentioning my efforts to go to the gym nearly everyday for now 80 days. It's become easier to add both fasting and exercise in my routine since I've been working full time. Prior to that, I freshly graduated but wasn't employed for 6 months. My weight skyrocketed at that point.

@Wopu I work out 3X a week, but I've never been a gym rat.

You have to find what combination of diet and exercise works for you.

@Tfmonkey I don't recommend going there everyday, especially if you have a busy schedule and can build the willpower to go back to exercising after a few days or weeks of not doing so.

I'm afraid I easily go off rails and it cost me 2 months of hypertrophy progress. Knowing yourself is part of the process and it takes experimenting to learn what you need to know.

@Tfmonkey The answer is akways in front of you you just need to go Vegan and stop the keto retardation

@Tfmonkey Has there been a physical difference like when you look in the mirror? What are you eating exactly? Are you taking any supplements and minerals?

@Brianhere I was in shape to begin with, so I haven't noticed anything.

I take a Calcium, Magnesium, and Zinc supplement as well as Fiber.

The one thing that has helped is my green chai tea. The ingredients are natural appetite suppressants, which makes fasting easier.

@Tfmonkey I think you missed the part where I was asking what exactly do you eat. I ask this because I have just started fasting.

@Tfmonkey Also, something that I've noticed with fasting is I'm less emotionally reactive to negativity, its like I'm in a flow state of mind. Have you noticed this?

@Tfmonkey happened to me one of these days. Gained about 1 kilo without explanation, then I woke up in the middle of the night to piss two times.
