@philosophy That's why I prefer Camus to Schopenhauer. You push that rock up that hill, knowing it will roll back down and nothing will be accomplished, and you enjoy it.

@Pain66 Just little things like being lazy and not being enthusiastic about life in general. I create problems I have to solve unnecessarily.

It's like my hedonic scales need to reset my pain/pleasure balance.

I'm not breaking bad or anything.

I realized that when things go too well for me and I'm too happy for too long that I self sabotage in order to bring my life back down to a comfortable level of ... meh.

@dander I disagree with him about supporting UBI and believing automation is going to eliminate all jobs in 30 years, but then again, economics is emotionally unintuitive.

@dander No, we didn't have a falling out, but we don't run in the same circles, and I'm no longer relevant, and people don't reach out to collab with me anymore because I've been banned.

@lccmv it does seem like a contradiction that the ruling class supports democracy but hates populism until you understand that the ruling class simply support the trappings of democracy, but actually hates the people for whom democracy is supposed to be for.

They only support a form of democracy that they can subvert and control, hence they will say such and such is a threat to "our democracy" because populism cannot be a threat to democracy itself, only "their democracy".

@MMA make a humane mousetrap. There are tutorials on YouTube using a bucket and various things like a roller or seesaw plank.
