@Tfmonkey I can't believe you actually criticized Caesar for destroying the securitrons in the bunker. That is precisely what makes the Legion the best faction.
The WHOLE point of the Legion's philosophy is to create strong men that won't nuke the world AGAIN. Relying on superior technology to defeat an opponent works in the short term, but it will inevitably lead to weak men and nuclear war. Even women can be soldiers if the tech is advanced enough. And Caesar even explains this in the game!
@Tfmonkey Caesar also acknowledges that the weapons his Legion uses are fragile on purpose, to force his men to be strong and to not become dependent on technology but instead relying on their minds and bodies. And they do use guns, just not energy weapons.
Caesar is thinking long term. On the other hand you have House, who wants to keep people ignorant, gambling and whoring, while his robot army conquers the world. What a great plan, can't see how relying on technology could go wrong at all.
@Tfmonkey Now let's pretend Caesar was an amoral idiot and didn't want to destroy the securitron army. Well, the only way to get to the robots and activate them, is with House's platinum chip, as nothing the Legion had could pierce the bunker's armor. And what are the odds they can somehow reprogram the chip, or the robots, to force them to answer to Caesar, before they start shooting everyone on House's orders? About zero.
The obvious way to go is to destroy the bunker. It's not bad writing.

I have no idea about the universe you're talking about, but the concept of intentionally limiting technology as a force multiplier in order to achieve the right balance between optimal human warriors and tech-assistance is one I'm familiar with.
The best fictional concept of this is Herbert's Dune universe and the Butlerian Jihad solved this precise problem.
Most sci-fi doesn't even think about this which makes the Butlerian Jihad approach unique.
@UncleIroh Interesting, I never watched Dune or anything, but I just might if the story/factions are that well-thought-out.
Regarding Fallout's Legion, their leader Caesar believes that we shouldn't rely on technology as a weapon, because it comes at the expense of individual's strength and leads to increasingly advanced weapons and armageddon So all his soldiers must be proficient in hand-to-hand combat and value it above all else, even if they do occasionally use artillery and small firearms.
And I 100% agree with that. That's the question that the Butlerian Jihad resolved.
I firmly believe that if we don't end the human race through our OP technology within the next 1000 years, we will have de-facto had to have succeeded in resolving this dilemma.
Technology is dysgenic, there's no denying that. It weakens us physically, morally and spiritually.
@UncleIroh Oh but those AI wifus though, surely they're worth a little tyranny. And washing machines, imagine where women would be without them... And don't forget the artificial womb, the government will be able to print babies like they print money, but we'll be empowered because we won't have to take women's rights away to have children. As IF men who can't control their women deserve to procreate.
Technology and overpopulation are the problem and I don't understand why TFM supports it.
@UncleIroh @Based_Accelerationist Thanks For Sharing this Essay pretty straight foward I enjoy it listen to it.
