If you are thinking of converting a van for camping or living I want to encourage you not to overspend on a shitty van. Fuck Dodge, fuck Chevy, fuck Ford, and especisally fuck Mercedes because lol. If you can get one for under 10k and it's decnent, sweet! But anything else is mostly overpriced nonsense.
Convert a large Toyota or Honda SUV or minivan. Much better price, and way higher quality vehicle. Shekelberg found out about vanlife and made it expensive but there are ways around it
@Lorgar Yeah, I am annoyed by the promotion of shitty vehicles to live out of. They are a horriblething to spend money on to transport you so even worse to house you.
I'm mostly finished converting a big SUV, did a bunch of research, wasted at least 10% more than budget so far but holy moly these people with vans paying 3-4 times what i did are really dumb.
@WaveClearMid Japanese cars can't be beat. They care so much more about quality and reliability than we do.
@WaveClearMid vans are becoming more rare and pricy so an SUV is probably better if you're price conscious
You can also buy a camper van that's already been turned into a mini RV, but you'll have to take off the parts of the camper and deconvert it to look like a normal vehicle again so you can stealth camp in parking lots
@WaveClearMid that's very true. Better Bachelor had a lot of trouble with his bus. Maybe you can buy a cheap van and then combo with a farm in a very remote location.
