@Tfmonkey - Anticipated objection: shareholders are owners, and that's why the requirement for fiduciary responsibility exists.. 🤔 and it'd be a fair point.
But what if shareholders weren't owners? What if they bought rights to profit-sharing, contingent on profit being available, but without corporate control? ..or maybe limited corporate control.
In real estate, water rights, mineral rights, surface rights, etc, all exist on the same land. Maybe corporate ownership could be similarly split?
@Tfmonkey - Hoped for upside:
- Allows corporate MGMT to pursue long term vision, at the risk of short term profit.
- Allows corporations to prioritize (or simply comply with public zeitgeist) social trends - for example, instead of off-shoring in strict pursuit of profit, a company could hire domestic at the risk of some profit.
Possible downside:
- greater risk for investors. But maybe that's just part of the gamble?
What do you think? Am I far wrong in that it might broadly help culturally?
@Tfmonkey ➡️ Given all that... I was wondering about the legal requirement of "fiduciary responsibility" being a legal requirement for corporate board members (I think that's it. I'm kinda ignorant on corporate structure to be honest... which is why I'm curious to hear your opinion).
What if we eliminated that legal requirement that corporations must act in order to maximize profits? Like, what's the worst that could happen?
@Tfmonkey - Don't know if it was intentional, but I feel like my question was indirectly answered on air, via superchat. Excellent points were made about corruption being the unavoidable problem, the impermanence of any given system, and capitalism being the only option where freedom is the default.
I've had a thought in the time since. Looking for ways to tinker for improvement.. My gripes with the current system is shortsightedness, and corporate driven cultural destruction. ➡️
@nomebullyyou - The more I think of Judaism as matriarchy, the more it makes sense.
That's a female question.
@N_Y_SparkyOxCable - Tomatoes add a lot to a burger. They taste bright, and cheerful - like a mid sweet citrus.
The fact that I can taste them, and that no sandwich is complete without them, could be genetic... 🤔
I'm a quarter Italian. 🍻
@CheshireHuman - probably exaggeration, but even if so, I don't think we would even hear about it.
When a man kills himself, who cares? ...serious question. Maybe his mom, if she's still alive?
And if no one cares, then who would bother to notice?
@Chirin_the_Ram @Zeb - I heard he was a Tupperware salesman in Cleveland.
@RadiumLE85 - Interesting. 🤔
@RadiumLE85 - I think it's one of those things that makes so much sense... that it sounds like it could be true. 🤔
@TenaciousGoat - I'm more of a shrine guy, personally. 🍻
@Chirin_the_Ram - I thought it was Doug... 🤔
@nomebullyyou - Fuck those guys.
@nomebullyyou - Who did this?? 😂😂
@VeganMGTOW @nomebullyyou - I blame Italian genes. Take the good with the bad, I guess. 🍻
@nomebullyyou - I guess I'm not offended, because I know the failure isn't mine.
@nomebullyyou - ➡️ I'd try again. If we didn't live in a culture of infidelity, when I know that there's a line of dudes just salivating at the chance to take my place in a romantic relationship, then maybe I'd pursue one. If women weren't showered with money they don't deserve, then maybe my own accomplishments in life would be attractive to them.
But with all of that, I am single and not trying - because why should I? ...just to have it all stripped away?
@nomebullyyou - And it's funny too... "out of shape, porn-addicted man children"
I watch a fair bit of porn. I'm not in the best shape I could be. And I maintain a few juvenile traits - a sense of imagination, an anime hobby with 5k in figurines, and aside from living up to fatherhood not pursuing grown-up goals...
So why aren't I offended at that? I dunno... maybe because I understand the futility of trying within such an unfair system. If divorce weren't so easy and incentivised, maybe ➡️
@nomebullyyou - I don't know what prompted the post, but it's a fair point. I've known plenty of male failures.
This is why I say, unfair though it may sound, that gynocentrism is mens' fault. Because for all the legitimate hardships men face from that, the problems are ultimately caused by other men.
Simply put: it isn't fair. And only a war will fix it.
It's a silly thing to have to take lives over... But I put the blame on those that refuse to see the necessity of removing women's rights.🫗
@TenaciousGoat - Oh! Big river. That's scenic as hell. I'm jealous. 😄🍻
