That's the million dollars question. There are dozens of possible paths that countries could take, the situation could be reversed with decisive action. But in reality the people themselves would reject the medicine.

Historically, empires and declining countries start getting more tyrannical, with crazier regulations every day, printing money at ever increasing speeds to keep up with inevitable wars they can't afford. The brain drain is also important.

That's the funny part about economics of supply and demand: the cure to high prices are high prices.
The more the west raises taxes, cut off escapes and refunds while giving subsidies only to government owned companies (reducing supply of low tax jurisdictions), the HIGHER the profit for countries that become one themselves.
That's how every monopoly eventually ends, the demand for low tax is always there and increasing every day.

Yep. Switzerland fucked itself pretty hard by abandoning its historical neutrality and banking security when they adopt the global minimal tax, end of bank secrecy and cooperation with EU censors (integration of their financial systems) and obviously siding against Russia.

Now everything is fucked for europe, they made way too many political and economical mistakes and with their dying capable (white) population, the clock is running out.
