I don't know man. The story is very fishy and I have a hard time believing America's security apparatus could be bypassed so easily but who knows for sure.

Its controversial because alot of people have alot riding on this.
Elites wanted more control.
Normies wanted to feel safe.
Noone gets what they want if the truth comes out.

Governments are on a tight schedule, they can't just sit around waiting for disasters to occur naturally.
If you need a Patriot Act to install mass surveillance on your own people just manufacture a crisis. I don't know why anyone considers this controversial.
