@Shlomo Nah, this one is true. Petro was a member of M-19, a guerilla that used to commit acts of terrorism back when it existed.

It's not uncommon for members of such groups to become politicians in Latin America, and when others try to point it out or forbid them, US backed international organizations come screaming that that goes against democracy and how dare you oppose those poor poor terrorist/druglords/criminals, ma' human rights, and so on.

This angered protestants to no end, since they used to convert people to protestantism through their children, so they started to spread different accusations with no base in reality, like that one
