subjective experience of something, with the objective, external world and what is happening in it. That someone has an internal experience I do not think anyone doubts. The problem is that it is most likely not an externally occuring event supported by evidence.

Depends on the definition. Some reports have natural explanations, some were conmen, some crooks, some were mentally ill, some did drugs, and so on and so on.

But most, if not all, verbal or written reports, that do not have moder, empirical evidence, can be safely discounted.

But... it is important to keep apart the

@ChrisMayLA6 Since we are all subjective, I think the best we can do is... a democratic election with _all_ cubans, exile and non-exile? But the problem is how to balance for the fact that the natives are subject to government propaganda.

As for the second question, I think this is more about public mgmt. If you take control (being the government or a corporatoin) and do not share the spoils, you won't be in power for long.

@slashdot Read my lips... for regular people the technology is not yet mature. Maybe in 5-10 years, maybe.

@ChrisMayLA6 True, but likewise, the cubans that live on the islands, are exposed to propaganda. It's like asking a peasant in the old soviet country side if the soviet union was good, and of course it was, since he was not aware of any other alternatives. So I'd argue, that actually, the best representative of what is best for cuba are the exile cubans.

As for control, does it matter? If the cubans do not control the corporation, but it raises their standard of living, isn't that enough?

Truth is there's less reason to believe some of this shit than there is to believe the Alien shit coming out of the US Government right now.

This is the way. There is no empirical evidence of anything supernatural such as demons.

What pro-demon people can do, is to retreat to a psychological definition, but then you might just as well call it "mental illness".

It sounds vaguely in the compatibilist direction, that is, as long as you are free to act in line with your preferences, it can be said you are acting out of your own free will, regardless of if the laws of nature dictated that action or not.

The focus is on preferences and wishes, and blockers to those.

@ChrisMayLA6 Not necessarily. Countries are run for the benefit of the people who live there. Corporations consist of people. If cuba were run for the benefit of corporations, with people on cuba, there is no problem there. Most likely, cuba would fourish as the 51:st state and peoples income and quality of life would massively improve.

I think it is time for the authoritarian communist leaders of cuba to be taken to a US prison, and for the US to take over.

I've met many cubnas in the US

@ChrisMayLA6 Well, it certainly doesn't help tourism to read about all the crazy interrogation at the US border. Granted, this only happens to 0.00001% of all tourists, but since people are not capable to reason around probability, I imagine that this has discouraged a few million people at least from traveling to the US.
