Americans used to think hippies were lazy fruits for dropping out during the Vietnam War, but maybe the hippies had the right idea after all.

If you can't change a corrupt system, why be a part of it?

It's kinda funny how right-wing and center-right people like Bryan Lunduke are more ideologically aligned with free software, user freedom and "sticking it to the man" in general, supporting underdog projects like Xlibre, while FOSS people who are nominally on the Left tend to support IBM/RedHat-controlled technologies like systemd, GNOME, Flatpak etc. as well as Canonical's Rust rewrites of the coreutils, and consider people like Richard Stallman to be "chuds" and the GPL to be outdated or impractical.

I'm not making a judgement on whose choices are better objectively or who's morally right, I just find it really funny that this is the state of the affairs. We live in la-la land.

americans will choose comfort. and those that can afford their bills will let the rest drown.

to be fair I work my ass off 6 days a week. I built my skills over the last 20 years.

sorry if you can’t read or show up to work on time. not my problem.

It is very sad that the world is now consumed by one desire, and one desire only... to watch grown up men kick a little ball.

Surely this is a good sign of the decline of civilization!

The inhabitants of the archipelago beyond Khitai say that these eldritch shrines date back to the origins of the universe, although the Hyborian Age is the source of even earlier tales. #Shinto #prehistory cromwell-intl.com/travel/japan

I’ve been seeing more videos about the Belfast protests, and it’s the most retarded shit ever.

So these Irish men are going around burning houses to flush out migrants.

Why are they burning houses?! If they wanted migrants gone they just need to kill them and then there’s all these houses available. But instead they act like niggers chimping out. It’s so fucking stupid.

Sometimes you manage to exceed expectations. I sell a software tool that speeds up a government process. One of the users at one of my customers, changed her job, and she had as a condition for accepting the job offer that the new company buy my tool for her, or she would not accept the job.

Then I feel that I did a good job, when my users switch jobs, and demand that the new employer also buy my software! 😀

Illustrating every legendary creature in Wisconsin folklore: The Tommyknocker.

The tommyknockers were the gnomes of Wisconsin's early Cornish immigrants, who settled in the Driftless Area during Wisconsin's early history in order to work the lead mines.

Tommyknockers were the magical little people who aided the lead miners, warning them of cave ins by tapping on rocks, or leading the miners to rich veins of lead. In exchange, miners would leave some of their pasty crusts in the mines as an offering to the knockers.

Tommyknockers believed in so strongly and were considered so vital to mining by Cornish-Wisconsinites, that it was reported that Cornish miners would refuse to enter a new mine unless they had been assured that there were already tommyknockers down within it.

However, if the miners neglected their mine's tommyknockers, they would cause problems. They could throw stones at the miners, steal helmets, and even tamper with dynamite fuses. So if you're a miner, make sure you leave out a pasty crust or too as an offering!

"It is tempting to try for the best of both worlds—to restrict the privacy of bad people while protecting that of good, permit governments to collect detailed information about us but only allow it to be used for good purposes. But somebody must decide who are the good people and the bad, what purposes are worthy or unworthy. Whoever that somebody is will have his own agenda, his own purposes. Angels are in short supply."
