Even with Pope Francis being as he is, I did not think he would go this far. But he did. If his goal is to make people leave the Catholic Church, he is accomplishing that quite well with crap like this.
"But it is not actually marriage!" Shut up. We have seen how the story goes. You put one foot in the door and eventually it leads to the outcome that they claimed would not happen. This is the standard playbook.
This is just going to make Catholics leave the church rather than increase their numbers. This example is just one country, but I don't doubt the trend is the same. Appealing to the gay agenda does not help you retain memberships.
Not that teachings and practices should be based on numbers alone, but this is both destructive to the core teachings AND to membership. So it is lose-lose. Which is why I see it as something that will be detrimental overall.
@houseoftolstoy
No Muslims statistics?
@Zeb This is just about Christian denominations. Muslims are a whole different topic, though I would guess they are growing in numbers in the UK. And my guess is that they are less accepting of any changes in their teachings and practices than most other Christian denominations.
@houseoftolstoy This was a good read. I'm glad some people see through the insidious satanism that is LGBT
Eastern Orthodoxy about to get hit up with massive influx. This is a 1000 year old "told you so" moment.
And besides, any serious Christian should keep Romans 12:2 in mind:
"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."
Capitulating to the homosexual agenda in any way is conforming to the world rather than following God's will. So Pope Francis is wrong in his decision, regardless of any other motivations.
