Another day, another press release assault telling you it’s totally your fault that you’re single, ignoring the drastic shifts in the dating market that are out of your control.
More competitive and cutthroat than ever before, but they’ll trot out the same terrible “well if giving it 90% wasn’t enough, give it 100% And if that doesn’t work, GIVE IT 110%!!!!!“ advice you get from out of touch boomers living in 1965
@WashedOutGundamPilot For the whole thread, I should make a note that putting all the blame on men while putting none on women is to be expected.
Women cannot possibly have a role in these issue! They are perfect angels!
Yes, just keep beating down on the men who are already numb to the pain of the previous attacks. I am sure it will work after becoming less effective. Holding women accountable is a cardinal sin in our gynocracy!
@WashedOutGundamPilot Who are the young women dating? Not only multiple with the same man, but also many of them are dating older men who have money. Women are more likely to have interest in men with money, and young men are far less likely to have money than a man who has had a decade to advance himself financially.
@WashedOutGundamPilot This is not to say that all men would drop everything and go for any woman that would say yes. Many women are not able and/or willing to offer men what they want in a relationship. So the alternatives are still only providing a poor substitute, but to extend the steak metaphor, when you are being told that a rotten cut of steak that was taken out of the dumpster is of prime quality, the burger looks like a far better option.
@WashedOutGundamPilot What a huge crock of shit. The vast, vast majority of men would prefer to have an actual relationship than to use pornography.
Many men simply strike out too many times with relationships that they stop even bothering. And with women demanding more and offering less while still rejecting the vast majority of men, it is little wonder that they resort to alternatives.
A man may prefer a steak to a burger, but if he never is allowed to have the steak, the burger suffices.
@sj_zero But we are so much smarter than people in the past! They were all just so stupid because they did not have a college education! That is how you become smart, my professors told me so!
A big mistake in modern times many people make is the assumption that we are more intelligent than those in the past.
@DW2 White privilege is having to succeed on your own merits instead of getting coddled and pandered to at every turn. Ironically, this actually helps the whites that are strong enough to swim against the currents by making them stronger, meaning they understand how to truly be successful. The outside observers see these few successful white men and assume (incorrectly) that they got coddled just like the non-whites.
@sickburnbro If you want even more NPRisms, I can provide a couple more:
-"without evidence"
-calling things complicated or saying more context is required when the simple explanation is against the narrative
-claiming that someone was previously spreading misinformation while only citing said incident without bringing up the supposed misinformation because it turned out later to be completely true.
NPR is worse than most. Just because they used hushed tones does not mean they are not scum.
Better advice is indeed more universal, and most cases less specific.
For making money, I think it is important to look for something that you are capable of doing competently that will give you a good return on your investment (i.e. pays well and gives you enough time away from work). Along with that, it should be something that you do not completely hate doing (I think it is a mistake to tell people that they should love the job they are working in order to find happiness).
This applies to other ways people suggest making money, such as real estate/rental properties.
Not everyone is going to navigate selling/renting out property as well as those who did find success. Their success might not even be fully attributed to their own skills alone, as they might have hit a good streak of sales that cannot be counted on at all times.
And not everyone wants to be on the hook for maintaining rental properties either (not always going to be easy "passive income").
One problem I have when any individual gives advice is that they often assume that their advice can be universally applied. Often, their advice requires circumstances that assumes something unique is more universal.
"If you want to make good money in a reliable career, learning to code is the way to go!"
This assumes that everyone is even capable of doing this (too many people are indeed too stupid) or that it will be a job that they would want to stick with.
Whether or not the charges against Trump are a complete bullshit witch hunt or not, I have come to realize I do not care about the outcome. What will change? It is not as if him being charged is going to prevent him from winning the presidential election. That will already happen regardless with the "election securing" by the Democrats.
Perhaps it will give the left some bread and circuses. I have similar thoughts if the left decides to throw Biden under the bus in the future. It means nothing.
@deprecated_ii Absolutely. I just LOVE going through dozens of different function calls when debugging before I figure out what actually is going on in the code. I t is even more fun to use Find All References over and over again before I get to the part where something is actually happening!
It is just so inconvenient if I have to scroll down the page a little bit! And my brain starts hurting if I read something that is not one tiny section of text at a time!
@MasterSimper Yes, being rejected sucks. But now you know where things stand, and you are not going to regret not finding out or letting things build up in your head too much. Too often young men invest way too much of their energy in speculating on potential relationships, and it is unproductive in many ways.
@Stahesh Bad time to use the meme, as the anon is not out of line. But what can you expect from Reddit?
@mutageno Not saying he was great or a savior by any means. But rather that he was played by the Cathedral into greenlighting the vaxx. I am arguing against the idea that he was architecting the vaxx or was truly instrumental in the rollout of the vaxx. They made him think that he was, as it works perfectly with his ego. As I said, played.
And yes, he did way too much talk while doing too little.
@LouisConde Could we instead reconsider whether or not someone is simply a lost cause if they are coming to school drunk/high/possessing drugs. It is not like getting a high school diploma is going to change their lives and make them better people.
Even as school has become worse, it is still emphasized as critical by midwits who think school is the key to success.
Looks like this will be my new home. Warning: I (probably) have Asperger's, so my be prepared for my autism to show through.
I don't think I am a right wing extremist, but I am sure anyone with low testosterone might think otherwise.
