@Stahesh @Wopu There is a reason Reddit often appears as a leftist shithole. That reason is because so much about things there is fake and gay. Yes, there are going to be many cases where subreddits there are heavily biased to progressive/woke politics, but there is much manipulation behind the scenes taking place. There are rare instances such as this where you see a lack of that manipulation, and you get actual sanity because of that.

@caekislove @Titanbreakerkun Yep. She wants an excuse to be a shut in, because she knows it is not socially acceptable to be a shut in. If she has a convenient excuse to live like this, then she tricks herself into thinking she does not have to feel guilty for this lifestyle.

@Titanbreakerkun Nobody is making you leave your house/apartment. You can continue to be a shut-in. Many people still live like that.

@DW2 This is exactly what happens when you teach lies to the younger generations, they believe in the lie while the older generations are well aware they are lying and understand how to do the balancing act of saying one thing and doing another. The next generations that are not aware of this balancing act and go full bore with the lies they think are truth will indeed destroy everything.

Not saying the older generation is not scum (they are), but rather they understand pragmatism better.

I don't know how else you can say ending permanent alimony erodes the institution of marriage when these women already did that when they divorced their husbands.

This is the problem with trying to appeal to any fringe voters. Their support will evaporate the moment you enact a policy that appeals to your core base. Though I doubt that many "Republican" women are turning to the other side for this exact policy, this principle can be extrapolated for all women and all the other laws that we should not have.

Just how many stupid laws are allowed to remain just so that "we just need to win one more election" keeps happening?

Overall a good book to read, but there is a major flaw in the fact that the chapter with the most pages complains that Obama did not lick Israel's asshole enough. Note: he still served their interests, so no, he was not based in this regard.

@WashedOutGundamPilot This is what I hate about those who willfully operate in ignorance. It was easy for him to claim it was not true because he no longer has to deal with scholarships and sky high college costs. So it just cannot be a problem because he is currently not experiencing it and things just must be the same as they were when tuition did not cost 6 figures.

Though college is a bad idea these days, the boomer does not know this either and insists younger generations still go.

@DW2 This time, the statement "correlation does not imply causation" actually applies. Those that live in houses that have enough yard space are more likely to be white. Cut down every one of those trees, the crime rate will not change.

@Humpleupagus Apparently she was too tired after the wedding. She states "we were tired," as if it was a mutual thing. Nope, it was not. He clearly had the energy, and whether or not she really was too tired, it is complete bullshit to say "we" as if it was mutual.

Yes, someone can just inherit an already successful business or cheat using steroids. But the envious ones will assume because they are either unwilling or unable to replicate the success they see in others, they assume it is impossible to do without cheating.

Ultimately, it shows they are unwilling to do the work themselves and would "cheat" themselves if they thought they could do so without negative consequences.

What does having success in business and being able to lift heavy at the gym have in common? Both cause envious people to be upset that they are not currently doing as well as the person who built themselves up over a long period of time.

Those same envious people are unable to grasp the concept that the business owner and the swole guy took years of dedication and struggle before they got to the level they did. Rather, they just say that their success is unfair.

@Pain66 There is no "playing make believe" when playing video games, as you are actually interacting with something. Whether or not it is a good use of your time is one thing, but any adult man knows he is just playing a game. And it is strange that he will defend movies, as it is just as much "playing make believe" according to his stupid standards and just as much of something that can take up time.

@PapaPole Yes, people like to do what is fun/exhilarating. But that is often not in their best interests. There is only so much teaching that can be done to have people do what is in their best interests. Those that can be reached do not require that much teaching, and those that cannot are usually a lost cause.

But the premise that we just need to TEACH more is something lost on those who are too stuck on the value of equality. They really don't like the idea that stupid people exist.
