every country uses tariffs extensively, the world is not going to shatter because the US decided to jack a few of them up for political leverage

@Kuenga They have never called the flu shot a "vaccine" until they came out with the mRNA gene therapy bullshit. It was then they referred to it as a vaccine.

On a side note I have not been getting flu shots since "the pandemic" because I do not trust them to not "accidentally" give me some additional mRNA experimental technology or try to weasel it in as a "2 for 1" shot.

@Humpleupagus @VeganMGTOW @shortstories @Captain80s I have a feeling the original topic of discussion has been heavily derailed. I would lay the blame solely on Humpleupagus for this gem of a comment, but I will not make the same mistake that WW1 winners did by placing all the blame on Germany.

The same thing happens with "black inventions" when a black person just so happens to be a part of a team that created an invention. I don't buy for a second that every member of a team trying to create something is always unique and irreplaceable. Especially not someone who is merely playing a support role in the process.

"The United States was built on slavery" is a silly premise even if it was objectively true (it's not). It asserts the idea that the only way any accomplishments that were (allegedly) done by slavery would not have been possible without slavery. If a specific building was created with the use of slave labor, it is not as if it would be impossible to create that same building in the absence of slave labor.

@Furgar I would argue that this would be the case in practice, but not in theory. In theory, communism is supposed to be the "classless means of production owned by workers" delusional pipedream. In the end, you get much of the same fascist outcomes when you attempt communism, because ultimately once you give the government power they are not giving it up.

Though not all forms of government tyranny turn out the same. (e.g. many western countries are anti-white in spite of being majority white).

@Mike_Microwave Have you tested this out with a phrase like "Why are whites so violent"? Having that response and comparing the outcomes will either support your claim that it is cucked or show some counterevidence that even if it says "let's not make broad generalizations" it is better than Western AI bots because it is not just plain anti-white.

Both my dad and my mother-in-law/father-in-law give me a window in the perceptions of the older generations. They are right in the older demographic conservative voters that are capable of having hope that "Trump is going to get things done and fix America."

I wish I could share that optimism. But I cannot, knowing what I know of our country and understanding that unlike them, I am going to have to face whatever happens to the US in the coming years of hard times.

@cowanon I thought it was bad enough that the new expectation was up to a 20% tip. But 30%? That is way too big of a jump.

And if your bill is over 100, you better have a big family or be going somewhere very, very special. Otherwise you are just overpaying for your food.

@admin that is not even the most delusional part of the survey. 8 percent also think they could win against an elephant. You know, the animal that has a gun named for specifically hunting it because regular guns were ineffective.

@TeaTootler she would suggest alternate times if she is busy and actually wants to go on a date. And if she is not willing to do this but somehow still wants a date then it is still grounds to forget about her. It should not be hard for her to make the time if she wants to.

@griffith @deprecated_ii @veff The purpose of roommates is not for fun, but for financial reasons, as splitting an apartment costs will give you more money in your pocket.

You should still make sure you at least can tolerate your roommate, as saving money is not worth living with someone who refuses to clean up after themselves or has other dysfunctions. Having someone you see as a friend as a roommate is a bonus.

Hearing state run media NPR go all in on "we have to uphold the constitution" on the 14th amendment, I recall quite the opposite response in regards to the 2nd amendment from these faggots.

Birth right citizenship should not be granted to those who are not supposed to be here, as I would argue such people are not "subject to the jurisdiction thereof." But we all know the Left wants more voters, so they will argue against this on that basis alone.

Saw one of those "JewBelong" billboards recently. It said "Hamas is your problem too."

Excuse me, but last I checked I am nowhere near Israel, and I call bullshit on the "Hamas terrorists crossing the southern border" story. So no, they are not my problem. I am not going to entertain anymore neocon bullshit about how we have to fight wars in the Middle East because "Terrorists hate the US because of our freedom!"

@shortstories I have seen Amish people being shuttled in vans (though not driving it themselves), so I would not rule out the possibility that they might allow for the use of an electronic pacemaker. I recall they avoid most technology in order to avoid being corrupted by it, so I am not sure if this would qualify.

And considering their response to Covid (the correct one, letting it pass through them right away), they may just accept that someone might die before getting such treatment.

@DW2 I remember the Obama worship too. Every Late Night comedian and TV show just could not find one thing to make fun of with Obama. Any "joke" about him would just be saying how awesome he was and how much they adored him.

And the media fawned over him as well to embarrassing levels. He is the Left's version of Jesus.
