@deprecated_ii this has not been my experience with my marriage. We make sure that we are on the same page with our budget and we currently have no debt (except our house mortgage).
I am likely an outlier when it comes to this sort of thing, because I have heard far too many horror stories with men who have wives that lack any long term thinking and spend like drunken sailors.
Both my wife and I grew up in non-wealthy households, so that might have something to do with it.
@thefinn this was quite the read. A work that could only come from extreme neuroticism that a leftist woman can bring.
>But the sadism is accompanied by a trollish glee that reads far more like a 13-year-old boy's failed attempts at humor than what one would expect from a 53-year-old businessman and father of 12.
Meanwhile the article is written with the emotional stability of a high school girl. But that is unfair to most high school girls, as most are not nearly this bad.
Nit picking at a statement that I see often:
"No one put you in the friendzone except, you put yourself there."
This is not quite accurate. You are put in the friendzone by someone else, not yourself. But you decide whether you stay there or not.
This might seem like a distinction without a difference, but the way I see it the distinction demonstrates that others can put you in categories, but you decide whether or not you accept the role or not.
I have been hearing a lot of sob stories from federal workers being cut from their jobs on my NPR recon. They can cry me a river, because people losing their jobs is nothing new. It happens all the time. I have not only no sympathy, but less because we should not be having the federal government doing so many functions in the first place. No they are not essential, we can go without them.
If we cannot cut spending in these ways, how could we possibly tackle the much larger spending cuts needed?
@RodrickSage without having read this comic myself, does she kill him? Or does she just give him a stern lecture and/or rough him up?
Either way, this generation of writers are too often incapable of not shoving their personal political agenda into their work, and lack the ability to be subtle one bit. Though I consider that to be a good thing, as it is very difficult to be subversive when you are incapable of obfuscating your warped worldview in your writing.
Still sick of any claims of covid or "the pandemic" being considered the cause various issues. It always was and still is the government that was causing most of the issues when they were imposing restrictions on everyone. It is even worse when we see more and more evidence that they were lying about the numbers and not even following their own bullshit rules.
But what can we expect from our government? Honesty?
@DW2 >a second Marshall plan
A whole lot of assumptions going on here. Namely the US and its lacky countries winning and our country not undergoing some sort of collapse before or during the war.
Forget the war and aftermath, something is going to break with the US before we worry about bragging about how "we still got it" when it comes to flexing our military might.
@Hyperhidrosis @grey "climate change" is a deliberately loaded term that allows leftists to deflect from the fact that "global warming" would often not happen as the doomsayers predicted, and any "change" could be blamed on humans.
As if the climate is supposed to remain the same or have some consistent trajectory. Leftists just want more of your money, this is just another excuse to take it with taxes and "Green energy."
Looks like this will be my new home. Warning: I (probably) have Asperger's, so my be prepared for my autism to show through.
I don't think I am a right wing extremist, but I am sure anyone with low testosterone might think otherwise.
