@Aether Democracy: when you are told that you need a government to rule over you because you cannot possibly know enough to make your own decisions, but you somehow know enough to vote on who does.

But if you vote "the wrong way" it will be completely invalidated by means of fraud, lawfare, or other malfeasance. Because the vote is just a farce to keep you from doing anything to actually solve the problem.

First they came for the cows, but I said nothing, because I'm a vegetarian.

Then they came for the dogs, but I said nothing, because I'm a cat lady.

But then they came for the cats, and I'm still saying nothing, because I can't believe that those in control of "the system" might be wrong about anything.

@ButtWorldsMan Even if we were to take this woman at her word (a dangerous idea), she operates under the assumption that a breakup would be likely with this guy. The reason for that is because she is frequently in volitile relationships and assumes that is just how it is rather than the result of her choices.

But actually, she just wants to "enjoy her youth" before she "settles down" with a husband. She just wants both things because she does not want to "miss out" on being a slut.

If there is such a thing as the male equivalent of horoscopes, it is this:

@ButtWorldsMan Did the voice acting come from an AI? Because then I could excuse it for being bad. I may not speak Japanese, but I can tell that the voice lines are not well done.

Otherwise, hilarious.

@Zettour @deprecated_ii Yep. That's a problem with both the job market and the dating market. Too many frauds clogging up the system so that nothing can be trusted. Meanwhile honest people get screwed over until they find someone who actually has a realistic mindset for who they can expect to get.

And it is not surprising that the HR departments are filled with the same women who are delusional in both the job market and the dating market.

@PNS women like this are happy to have all the freedom that has been granted to them, but are not willing to accept the responsibilities that go with that freedom.

If it was not this guy she was cheating with, it would have been some other guy. And she would also blame him rather than accept responsibility. I have no pity for her.

>Hogwarts is too white!

Meanwhile, I found that the demographics in the UK in 2001 was 88.5 percent white British. And given the first book was written in 1997, this would mean that the population was probably a slightly higher percentage white. So having just a few confirmed non-white characters in a mostly white school is quite accurate.

It seems someone has been taking Netflix adaptations too seriously when they show the racial makeup of countries in the past.

@MCMLXVIIOTG @deprecated_ii >but a kid who just likes getting the high score can as well

I was this kid for most of school. So I know this mindset exists. Some people also just like learning and schoolwork just because.

>"There needs to be a deeper motivation for Hermione to so focused on academics at Hogwarts."
Faggot thinks that'd make it more compelling, but he's wrong. He's only looking at it from his personal perspective, but movies have broad audiences. Trying to impose tight constraints on fictitious movie characters? Can't separate his work from leisure, LOL.

It's just what Hermoine does, it really doesn't matter WHY. So just leave it open-ended. A kid who is pressured by parents can identify with her, but a kid who just likes getting the high score can as well. And all the other kids can think "oh, I know someone like that".

@deprecated_ii And yet we will still have most people insist that Harvard is an elite school. They really are riding on their name recognition and "elite" status hard.

@houseoftolstoy guy sounds like a barrel of laughs

I looked at his youtube page and he's a children's therapist, which makes him about the last person on the planet I would ask for advice about what kids like

@deprecated_ii Even worse, the guy thinks it would be a good idea to make Hermione dyslexic, as that would serve as a strong motivator for her to try hard and acheive in her academics.

J.K. Rowling was not masterful writer one bit, but I most certainly prefer her simple and flawed writing to the ideas this "well ackchyually" guy thinking that overcomplicating a story makes it better.

Credit to @deprecated_ii for this find. He may not watch it, but I will (my autistic curiosity curses me to do so). I do not advocate that anyone else does so.

While there are plenty of moronic ideas this guy has, one of the worst I have seen so far is "There needs to be a deeper motivation for Hermione to so focused on academics at Hogwarts."

Maybe some people are just wired that way. Do we need to make it more complicated than that? Apparently we do, according to this faggot.

I just thought of something regarding the elderly being prone to becoming victimized by phone/online scammers. Many of these older people grew up in an era of relatively high trust (at least much higher than what we have now). The idea that you cannot trust someone to be sincere may not come across some of these people.

Not saying mental decline is not a major factor too, but I think that the lack of awareness a low trust society plays a more significant role.
