There are two or three very different kinds of western point fencing
One moves in straight lines and you only try to hit people with the tip of the blade
The other moves in curves and you can hit people with the side of the blade
The third uses a third kind of sword where you can hit people with the side of the blade or the point
Each is very different
There are also other styles like Japanese competitive Kendo
Then there are sword arts that are not competitive
@RoninGrey @Tfmonkey
Because they emphasize lunges with the type of fencing where you only hit with the point of the sword & they might emphasize only one side
If you are not doing both sides
Try to estimate how many they have you do for the one side they have you practice
You could do that many for the other side at home so that your body does not get out of balance
U could
1 stretch the hip flexor muscles
2 stretch the knee extensor muscles which are different muscles
