No job means free insurance in U.S.A.
Free insurance means free evaluations to get a disability
See a psychologist or mental health counselor and tell them that you do not feel well because you can not get or keep a job
Try to steer it toward seeing a fancy person to give you a free neouropsychological exam to test for a disability
There are a lot of them autism, ADHD, schizophrenia, etc.
Apply for disability a lot of times once they diagnose you until they are tired of saying no
@shortstories i dont live in the USA and I have a bit more pride than that
Should be even easier to get welfare in Europe and English dominated countries
If it is not Europe or the U.S.A. or a English dominated country
You should be able to get a job with no skills not necessarily a good job but a job
Unless you really are to disabled to do physical labour
@shortstories i don't live in europe either I may be gay but im not a faggot
@shortstories and I am, I have at least one kind of cancer and can't stand for more than hour without fainting and breaking bones
Maybe move to Europe they are not supposed to reject refugees and give free health care
Unless you are white or Christian
I wish you were better sorry I do not know how to help
I ran out of advice and do not send money to strangers on the internet
All I can think of right now is make a youtube channel about how horrible your cancer is and milk it for money which will probably get taken down from youtube or try some way to get some local community to help you
"The good news is that there are organizations and programs that can help. If you can’t work due to a cancer diagnosis, you may be eligible for financial support from two Social Security programs. Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) provide financial support to people with disabilities unable to work."
https://blog.ssa.gov/diagnosed-with-cancer-social-security-and-triage-cancer-can-help/
If you have cancer and you can find a way to immigrate into the U.S.A. you can get disability payment
@shortstories@merovingian.club @vriska@lizards.live have you tried this? sounds fake

we gotta talk about how #welfare #fraud cases are really just people following incentives, which is exactly what employed people are doing at every level
@shortstories@merovingian.club @vriska@lizards.live
you can't really say that every single #employed person in a managerial or white-collar role is somehow driven by the Kantian categorical imperative

there is a lot (an i mean A LOT) to be said for a #ubi.... notes and coins need to be an option for getting a ubi because not everyone has access to online services, especially post-covid during what i will call the #GreatUnpersoning.

speaking as somebody who was raised by a #mentallyill single mother who was on #disability her entire life, I think #ubi is a shitty idea. The entire social safety net welfare state promotes entitled and disloyal and dysgenic populations.
If my mom wasn't getting paid by the gov for me, she would have handed me off to grandma to raise me like grandma wanted. Grandma knew best. My health still wouldn't be perfect but I would still be a hell of a lot better off in life.

economics has never really "worked" - there has always speculative booms and busts, wars over resources, and a large subsistence-worker underclass - but we're still here, right? a million years after the first monkey bartered meat for fruit, right?
we don't actually need the economy to work in a utopian fashion. If some smart dude sketches it out on a chalkboard and says "here's an equation that explains why everything is fucked" the other 7 billion of us don't actually need to do something about it.
@icedquinn@blob.cat @shortstories@merovingian.club @vriska@lizards.live @frogzone@wizard.casa
We live in a #permanent #wartime #economy that exists to #plunder the rest of the world via #perpetual #trade #deficits and the #petrodollar. It's #working exactly as intended and will continue to do so for quite some time.

Well, I'm having a fine #Thanksgiving I guess. I've got no-one to see and nowhere to go. I'll have some store-bought pumpkin pie later.
I'm working on a #terraform #opentofu build script (abstracted into a gnu make makefile). I intend for this to be the boilerplate code that I use to bootstrap up servers and containers for... anything. Anything I want, in the future. Chatbots, video streaming apps, wordpress educational quiz sites, anything I can dream up.
I should have started on this long time ago. Journey of a thousand miles, eh?
@icedquinn@blob.cat @shortstories@merovingian.club @vriska@lizards.live @frogzone@wizard.casa
I, uh, hmm.
I actually put the info directive at the top, so when somebody types "make" without any further directives it just gives them a README and the developer bugfix roadmap.
Also "make clean" gives you an echo of what would be deleted and instructs you to invoke "make force-clean".

My roommate said she'd share some turkey with me later. That's nice of her.
Quinn - dm me later if you want my script. It's not done but when it is I hope you'd enjoy it!
Celebrating the new year by starting on building out a bootstrap web app codebase from scratch. Just #helloWorld nonsense that supports login, logout, notifications, swipeable galleries and timelines, etc.
I'm abandoning my #openTofu #AI project for the time being, because the stupid cloud provider doesn't support launching cloud GPU via webservice, even though they have cloud #GPU, and even though they have a web API that can launch #VPS and other services.
My helloWorld app is gonna be pretty useless, to start with, but I still have to do it so that I have a codebase to use for a useful app of some sort.
I don't want to simply copy a tutorial for, say, a simple ReactJS app because you don't learn as much, and because your finished product is unmistakably a clone of every other app using that framework and tutorial. Plus you can't really do anything to optimize performance; whereas starting from nothing-nothing you decide what libraries and utility functions you need.
tagging @DeezMistaReez@eveningzoo.club because he reacted to this thread earlier
I'm learning just a tad-bit about #AMD ( #asynchronous #module #dependencies ) and #RequireJS. I've always been too retarded to do anything with #Webpack, because it needs to be running server-side as well as clientside in the browser (I think). Dependencies bundled together in real time, at the server side, plus whatever minifier and obfuscation they decide to add.
With RequireJS, it just needs to find static JS files in the URL folder structure it expects. So you can use really any webserver.
Discovered that #RequireJS is able to run in the browser and load dependencies and such, just from a local HTML file opened in the browser! You don't even need a webserver, just Ctrl + O and select index.html
So much easier than figuring out how to configure a specific webserver for a given language and framework. Oh noes, I'm running webpack to send JS to the browser, better figure out how to get Express.js running
I really regret that I was too retarded to learn #AMD #RequireJS years ago when it was a cutting-edge spec.
Feel like I'm #learning it now. Several years of career experience #debugging #shitty #JS and #jQuery code hasn't hurt at all.
It's a bit obsoleted now, given that #ES6 modules are in.
Still, if I can learn #asynchronous #dependency #loading with #RequireJS then it's probably fairly trivial to upskill to #ES6.
Welp.
Wasted another day on computer shit, but I feel like I know a bit more about #asynchronous #module #dependencies than I used to. Also I know more about promises than I used to.
The #syntax is pretty tricky but I think I can master it.

the entitled/disloyal/dysgenic trifecta is too big of a problem to solve. These people try to pass as normal whenever they benefit from doing so, and they appeal to pity / what if it was you / what would jesus do... again, whenever they benefit from it. Hypocritically. The WWJD god talk doesn't work on them. Doesn't make them act sweet and nice.
If they weren't sponging off the welfare state they would exploit someone else some other way.
@amerika @vriska @shortstories @KuteboiCoder @icedquinn >We don't need a #UBI... we need fewer people in the workforce
that is part of what a ubi is designed to solve, it allows people to leave a workplace setting much easier, it also allows people to leave an abusive living situation, easier. it allows them to keep a roof over their head while they care for loved ones, or work in the volunteer economy, and the world NEEDS more people volunteering in their local communities. it needs more historians so we don't repeat history, more "real" artists, and more passion projects.
the "means testing" and enforcement that goes on with the social safety net system is not only ineefective and wasteful, it costs as much to FUND as the money it doles out. It entrenches many busywork (bullcrap) jobs, and fills our roads with traffic jams that would not exist with a UBI, it forces govts to waste huge amounts of resources on infrastrure that would NOT be needed. Giving everyone a little to live on that is proportionate to the nations national income is not inflationary, but it would go down dramatically during periods when the country is not exporting enough.
So there is still a good incentive for everyone to do their part to improve the nation as a whole, or their baseline income drops.
@amerika @icedquinn @vriska @shortstories @KuteboiCoder >they are still in the workforce, just being employed to do nothing
ppl able to get by on a ubi are motivated to work when they see an unmet need, ie. homeless person needs a home they can help architect and build, or a husband or wife decides they need to do work at there own home by homeschooling and tending the house and garden, or if they want or need more wealth they can take on a paid job as a baker 3-mornings a week
If the average work week goes down to 3-days a week as a result, you have the result that you want. Less people doing things they never really believed were helping anyone, eg. advertising life insurance.
Win. Win.
> "zero immigration"
that's not a sensible goal. if veryone did that there would be no cultural exchange, and no travel, and no learning from other cultures. do you mean "net-zero migration"? a similar number of ppl coming as going? that is a goal that requires allowing other countries to develop at there own pace and not sanctioning them, not instigating revolutions in those countries and not giving money and weapons to extremist factions to cause chaos in this countries, yes? if you agree with that then a "net zero migration" is achieveable and is a noble goal. I think if you ask most people that is what they want.
@amerika @icedquinn @vriska @shortstories @KuteboiCoder >Why aren't they motivated by that without a UBI?
Because they are forced to work a stupid job building a highrise tower that they HATE and secretly hope a terrorist removes before anyone moves in.
@KuteboiCoder @vriska @shortstories sry to here ur mother was on disability, the only way a ubi would have helped ur situation is if she didn't gain a strong disability pension and was instead only on a ubi, if she was only on a smaller ubi then is possible she MAY have been either forced to move in with ur grandma, or only you might have.
clearly disabled people would get more than just a barebones ubi
@KuteboiCoder @vriska @frogzone
"speaking as somebody who was raised by a #mentallyill single mother who was on #disability her entire life, I think #ubi is a shitty idea. The entire social safety net welfare state promotes entitled and disloyal and dysgenic populations."
I just want to say I oppose mentally ill people being given a "right" to work
I would rather pay for disabled people not to work then pay the consequences of mentally ill people being put in charge of important tasks
@amerika@annihilation.social @frogzone@wizard.casa @vriska@lizards.live @shortstories@merovingian.club
One of the problems affecting #society now is that everybody is #retarded. More specifically, kids who are indifferent to school and occasionally naughty are medicalized as having all kinds of problems that require drugs and other mindfuck.
Now everybody is on drugs and mindfucked.
@amerika@annihilation.social @frogzone@wizard.casa @vriska@lizards.live @shortstories@merovingian.club
and... there's nothing that can be done about it - first of all - because people don't want to believe there is a problem. Being a retard and being treated as a retard should be exceptional.
People don't want to consider themselves or their kids in that dichotomy. "Either my kids are dumber than all other other kids and always will be... or else we're just scamming the system for free tutoring and inflated grades."
So instead we pretend that there's no problem, also daddies beat their kids in the fifties and that's bad
@amerika @vriska @shortstories @KuteboiCoder a lot has been said by u folks that can be solved with a ubi
>(kids) medicalized as having all kinds of problems that require drugs
do u think those corrupt #bigpharma and the #biostitutes workers WANT to have a job where they cook the statistics for #bayer, #monsanto etc, of course they dont the point is that if they WERE to become a #whistleblower and report the #fraud they WILL MOST LIKELY become destitute, and probably lose their home and partner. a ubi means that not only are they going to be mobile in the workforce, they may never have felt forced to get that job to cook numbers in the first place.
>there's nothing that can be done about it - first of all - because people don't want to believe there is a problem
ppl dont have time to read and research and learn the problems, but even if they DID, is a WHOLE other story to find the TIME to solve them a ubi would allow a person to step away from the treadmill and actually think. My understanding is that a UBI will result in a three day work week, in general, SOME will still LOVE to work 5 days a week, i think productivity (output vs time spent working) will be a bit higher too.
>dumb kids need simple jobs. Instead we promote them into management
this is the bullcrap jobs phenomenon ubi is uniquely targetted at elimnating. these jobs build up when ppl are forced to believe that #beingEmployed is EVERYTHING, they tie their sense of self and ego to being employed. I sincerely believe this results in a lot of white-collar crime yes, often DEVASTATING for LARGE numbers of people. i think under a ubi we can be a bit harsher on white collar crime, and give then ankle bracelets for longer periods and for the aggrevated cases i'd have a tattoo that says "MONEY" put on their right hand so they can't shake hands without exposing themself.
@amerika@annihilation.social @frogzone@wizard.casa @vriska@lizards.live @shortstories@merovingian.club
one of my provocative opinions - one that's bound to be unwelcome in WN nazsoc #fedi - is that #firstworld societies produce progressively #dysgenic populations more than the brown third world.
Referring, of course, to middle-class people who need lots of drugs and #therapy to cope with their boring jobs and lives. How would you survive poverty? How would you survive oppression?
#Thirdworld countries produce large shitty populations, but first world populations produce mid populations that become shitty over time.
@amerika@annihilation.social @frogzone@wizard.casa @vriska@lizards.live @shortstories@merovingian.club
#SouthKorea and #Japan are both examples of first world economies turning their societies shitty. It isn't just white countries doing this.
@shortstories yeah i'll just pay for trade school with the jobs i can totally get
