I was thinking someone better with tools than me could probably build one at home for less than 200 dollars

They would probably have to attach different objects to the pulley for weights if they did not want to spend money on a standard gym weight stack or standard gym weights

A cable machine is my favorite gym machines and this thing allows you to save money on a cable machine compared with the price of some other products if you already have a weight rack but it costs hundreds of dollars if I understand the video correctly

This could replace many other exercise machines that allow you to maintain force in a direction perpendicular to your direction of movement for both arms and legs maximizing torque

Except for one potential problem if you look at the weight that you set, it looks to me like because they put it on a second lever instead of a cable it's torque will change and you will not get the benefit of a constant torque in all positions throughout the movement
