I've heard the opinion a few times that it's somehow hard for the US military to operate in south america, but this is retarded. it's dramatically harder to supply ukraine, being so far inland with the contested black sea being the only water access and obstructionist turkey in the way, than it would be to supply forces attacking venezuela. we have shitloads of east coast and gulf coast ports with direct rail logistics hooked into our military bases. planes can stop at puerto rico on the way there. it's practically the ideal scenario since the US itself is still far enough away to make attacking the mainland functionally impossible
